The hi-tech industry has joined Taiwan’s national economic development mainstream and is the most advantageous in terms of international competitiveness. The Taiwanese government has injected enormous effort and resources into the construction of an optimal environment for industry development. For the purposes of policy implementation, the MOEA selected three Yunlin County farms belonging to the Taiwan Sugar Corporation—namely the Dabaishih, Zhuweizi, and Shihliuban farms—in August 1994, as bases for technological industry development. Starting September 1995, the CES Engineering Corporation has been carrying out the preliminary development of Dabaishih Farm, which has significantly contributed to Yunlin County development.
