2019 Thailand-Taiwan Industrial Collaboration Summit Forum-Continue working together to create new cooperation horizons and milestones

In order to promote Taiwanese government's New Southbound Policy to build industrial cooperation platforms among Asia-Pacific countries, the Third Thailand-Taiwan Industrial Collaboration Summit Forum was held on August 20th at the Sukosol Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand this year. The Summit was jointly organized by Chinese National Federation of Industries (CNFI) and Federation of Thai Industries (F.T.I), and implemented by Food Industry Research and Development Institute of Taiwan and National Food Institute of Thailand. The Summit attracted more than 350 attendees from Taiwan and Thailand. CNFI chairman Mr. Hsieh Chi-Chia, F.T.I chairman Mr. Supant Mongkolsuthree, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA), Mr. Lin Chuan-Neng, and Deputy Director General of Industrial Development Bureau (IDB), MOEA, Mr. Yang Po-Keng, were invited to give speeches to encourage future industrial cooperation between both sides.

Based on the good collaboration foundation built in the last two years, the Summit continued to factor in the global economic development and policy framework of both sides, to strengthen the collaboration in four major industries, including food biotechnology, textile, smart city, and automation. Seven Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) were signed to extend the substantive cooperative relationship of the industries. These MOUs include the cooperation in the food and biotechnology field to upgrade the Thai Konjac industry chain, in the textile field, strengthen the integration of Taiwanese textile machinery to the Thai textile industry, in the smart city field to create an smart solution in developing trial in Thailand and bring the commercial clustering effect, and in the automation field to promote the cooperation of Taiwanese IoT service industry with traditional industry in Thailand. The Summit Forum also featured product display and one-on-one business matching sessions to enhance the effectiveness and value of industrial connection.
