China Productivity Center Chairman Sheng-Hsiung Hsu and Industry Development Bureau Director-General Jang-Hwa Leu receive the APO Regional Award and APO National Award for their outstanding contributions in the promotion of industry innovation and productivity enhancements

The APO was established in Tokyo, Japan, in 1961. It currently has 21 member countries/economies and the Republic of China is one of the founding members. Since 1990, the "Asian Productivity Organization" (APO) has presented Regional Awards and National Awards every five years in recognition of individuals who have made unique contributions to the promotion of productivity, with each member country proposing a list of recipients. On this occasion, China Productivity Center (CPC) Chairman Sheng-Hsiung Hsu has received the 2021 "APO Regional Award" and Industry Development Bureau (IDB) Director-General Jang-Hwa Leu the 2021 "APO National Award."
CPC Chairman Sheng-Hsiung Hsu has been the APO Director for Republic of China since 2000, during which time he promoted the establishment of an APO Center of Excellence on Green Productivity and Center of Excellence on Smart Manufacturing in Taiwan that deepening innovation sustainability and smart manufacturing capabilities as they work together for a more prosperous Asia Pacific.
Director-General Jang-Hwa Leu has worked at the Ministry of Economic Affairs for more than 20 years and during his time at the IDB played a leading role in APO affairs and activities. He also supported the establishment of the APO Center of Excellence on Smart Manufacturing in Taiwan, as a way of helping the Republic of China become a global development center in the fields of smart machinery and smart manufacturing.
