2022 Malaysia-Taiwan Industrial Collaboration Summit:Strengthening Exchanges and Enabling Opportunities

Since the initiation of the New Southbound Policy by Taiwan government in 2016,the private sectors in both Malaysia and Taiwan have been seeking to deepen bilateral partnership through industrial cooperation. Launched in 2017, the Malaysia-Taiwan Industrial Collaboration Summit(MTICS)marks its sixth anniversary this year. Nearly 2,000 attendances joined the Summits and 41 MOUs were signed during the last five summits.
MTICS 2022,jointly organized by the Chinese National Federation of Industries(CNFI)and the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) and co-organized by various industry associations and institutes, is held online on 6-8 September.
In the main forum of the Summit, three new MOUs for bilateral collaboration in the fields of smart city, IT service and textile were introduced, and a confidential cooperation agreement relating to clinical trials of biomedical cell therapy was signed On the following two days, industrialists and experts from both parties will participate four sub-forums covering the topics of smart city, biotechnology for food/medicine/cosmetic, IT service, and textile respectively to explore broader and deeper industrial linkages and substantial cooperations with each other.
The Industrial Development Bureau (IDB), Ministry of Economic Affairs,one of the MTICS supporting partners, will continue to propel industrial exchanges and cooperations between Taiwan's private sector and its foreign counterparts.Meanwhile, IDB remains as a solid backup force for Taiwan's industry on its way toward upgrading,'transformation and internationalization.
