Branding Taiwan @ Taichung on October 6th: Insight into Trends and Key Factors of Future Success for Brands

The Industrial Development Bureau (IDB) expanded the Branding Taiwan Campaign, Phase Two – 2016 Brand Enterprise Exchange Series this year to help local enterprises better understand branding trends and the key to running a business, thereby ensuring their future competitiveness. The event is co-organized by the IDB and local governments to bring together related industry associations and potential brand enterprises, providing consulting and diagnostic services to local enterprises for branding.

The Taichung event of this series, co-organized by the IDB and the Taichung City Government, took place on October 6th, 2016. Darren Yao, Longitude CEO, was invited to speak in the morning session, attracting over a hundred representatives of local enterprises to participate. Yao stated that international trends of brand management have taken a leap from brand identity and brand value to brand experience and the highly personalized “Age of You”. To be successful in the future, Taiwanese enterprises need to consider eight operational elements of branding, including setting a clear brand vision, understanding your customers, innovation that is valuable to end-users, transforming to a customer-oriented organization, creating a vivid and consistent brand identity, providing a suscessful brand experience for key touch points, improving users’ experiences based on assesment, and jointly creating sustainable ecosystems via cross-industry partnerships. During the afternoon session, the IDB led brand consulting companies, the majority of which are located in northern Taiwan, to meet with potential brand enterprises of key industries recommended by the Taichung City Government, to discuss directions for brand development; the afternoon session was well-received by the enterprises that took part.
