The Taiwan-Japan Industrial Collaboration delegation, focusing on IoT innovative technology, applications and services, visited Japan on October 3-7, 2016. The delegation was led by the Industrial Development Bureau, and consisted of representatives from the Committee of Communications Industry Development (CoCID), Office of Digital Content Industry Promotion and Development, Chunghwa Telecom, Taiwan Mobile, Accton, Framy, and iStaging, as well as companies from the animation industry such as Fun Yours Technology, Xanthus Animation Studio, Ingeniousinc and arplanet.
The itinerary of the delegation included visits to Fujitsu, NTT docomo, and SORACOM to discuss how the communications industry should adapt in the era of IoT. The delegation also welcomed the Japanese industry to participate in Taiwan's projects regarding the construction of smart cities and the "Asian Silicon Valley." In addition, the delegation witnessed the signing of the Memorandum of understanding (MOU) between Taiwan's Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), Japan's Broadband Association (BBA) and the Japanese company HATAPRO. According to the MOU, a platform between Taiwan and Japan will be established to facilitate future cooperation in aspects such as talent, technology and funding.
The visiting organization also contributed to a number of Taiwanese and Japanese efforts in the digital content industry, such as Taiwanese digital gaming company Fun Yours Technology's intellectual property "Wind Fantasy", which was 100% made in Taiwan. In order to make the best MMO (Massive Muliplayer Online) games for mobile phones in Japan, game development for well-known companies on the market, such as Japan's Aiming Inc., embarked on a cooperative developmental partnership. Nada Holdings Inc. also announced its collaboration with Japan's Kodansha and Japan's "Kiki's Adventure World - Production Committee," holding an "IP Animation Ceremony" in honor of Japanese-Taiwan cooperation. As a result of this visit, the Ministry of Economic Affairs is expected to create more than NT$700 million in output value for Taiwan's information and digital content industries.
