Taiwan and Japan exchanged on smart machinery technologies, and will jointly explore the global market

Under the guidance of Ministry of Economic Affairs, "The 3rd Taiwan-Japan Smart Manufacturing Forum" was held jointly by Smart Machinery Promotion Office, Taiwan Automation Intelligence and Robotics Association, Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association, Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Osaka Business Development Agency on October 3, 2019 at "INTEX OSAKA”. The Forum focused on topics related to smart manufacturing and robotics. An MOU for marketing cooperation on 3D sensor technology total solutions and jointly expanding Japanese and global market shares was signed by LIPS Corp. from Taiwan and Inabata & Co., Ltd. from Japan, and witnessed by Ho Mei-Yueh - National Policy Advisor to the President, Yang Chih-Ching, Deputy Director of Industrial Development Bureau at Ministry of Economic Affairs, Arai Hiroshi, Minister of Trade and Economics at Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association, and Saito Susumu, Executive Director of Trade & Economics Department at Osaka Business Development Agency.
At the opening ceremony, Ho Mei-Yueh, National Policy Advisor to the President, stated that, global industries are gradually stepping into different phases of supply chain reconstruction. Since Taiwan and Japan are key players in global supply chain, we are at the right time to strengthen bilateral cooperation for more influential roles in the global supply chain undergoing reconstruction.
Industrial representatives such as LIPS Corp., Solomon, and Mechavision from Taiwan, as well as Fuji, Mitsubishi Electric, Fujitsu Co., Ltd., and Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. from Japan, were invited to the Forum to share technologies regarding 3D sensors and industrial robot tactile sensing, with the consensus on facilitating bilateral collaboration regarding technologies and business opportunities. MOEA (Ministry of Economic Affairs) stated that, Japan is a leading country in smart manufacturing, and has very mature integration as well as R&D technologies. Taiwan has excellent high-end smart manufacturing technologies and ICT industries. Having this Forum as a platform for sharing and communication, Taiwan and Japan can strengthen bilateral cooperation on new smart manufacturing technologies as well as supply chain, and push the development of Taiwan's smart manufacturing industries forward.
